NYSomeTimes (Qianying Guo), graduated from Tsinghua University with a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and Bio-Chemical Engineering, received a full scholarship and became a PhD candidate at Lehigh University in the US. She chose to give up her doctorial degree after 5 years of Nano material research before the PhD defence and went to California College of the Arts (CCA) to explore visual arts.
With her scientific research background, NYSomeTimes pays extreme attention to the physical rules in her creation. She builds a visual hirerachy structure with smooth and jumping lines, imagining a rational and romantic physical world on a two-dimensional plane.
