EYECANDIES PROFILE
EYECANDIES was founded in 2019, aiming to be “EYECANDIES about art, and a moving museum on creativity” for general public.
EYECANDIES hosts art community events every month, providing a platform for young and emerging artists to present their works and idea.
EYECANDIES is also a creative agency focusing on art, bridging brands and artists to forge collaborations. The key services of EYECANDEIS are CURATION, COLLABORATIONS, COMMUNICATIONS and COMMUNITY PROGRAMS.
Artists
As a young artist, and as the initiator of E.E Art Group, Du Qiu Rui is committed to curating exhibitions for young artists. Du Qiu Rui's works are rich, bright and fashionable, and at the same time, they reflect the feelings of indifference, emptiness, and detachment of the people in the contemporary highly-developed commercial and civilized society.
Graduated from Tsinghua University with a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and Industrial Bioengineering, she was awarded a full prize to become a PhD candidate at Lehigh University, but decided to drop out of the program before the defense, and went to California University of the Arts to change her major to visual arts. Her many years of scientific research background has made her pay extra attention to the rules of the physical world in her creations, creating a rational and romantic physical world on a two-dimensional plane.
Yanqi Liang was born in Hangzhou, China in 1992. She graduated from Camberwell College of Arts, UAL with a bachelor's degree in illustration and received a master's degree in animation from the RCA. Her works mainly focus on exploring the behavioral characteristics of women in daily life, and reproduce the real scenes and real feelings in life through painting, video and other media.
Eleanor Ai Wang graduated from the Slade School of Fine Arts in London, and currently lives and works in London. She is an artist who works primarily in painting but also involves a collaborative practice of performance. Exploring what emerges from everyday actions and routines, she creates multiple overlapping situations through the repetition and categorization of images.
Born in China in 1991, Yushi Li works mainly in photography and is currently studying for a PhD in Arts and Humanities at the Royal College of Art. Her work focuses on topics such as the gaze and gender power relations, challenging gender stereotypes and exploring new non-binary gender relations through photography.
Graduated from Hong Kong Baptist University with a degree in Music Performance and Goldsmiths College in the UK with a degree in Photography and Electronic Arts. More than a decade of musical background has allowed Yuni Xie to emphasize human emotions and feelings towards images in her creative process. She constructs her visual style with her unique color comprehension and exploratory perspective.
